Regulatory Partners
The College of Chiropractors of Alberta values our regulatory partnerships that strengthen professional chiropractic regulation and promote excellence in serving the public interest. CCOA is a member of these partner organizations:
- Alberta Federation of Regulated Health Professions (AFRHP) – The AFRHP promotes and advances regulation in the pursuit of excellence in serving the public interest.
- Federation of Canadian Chiropractic (FCC) – FCC is a national group of regulators, educational institutions and chiropractic regulatory colleges focused on promoting the protection of the public and excellence in chiropractic education and care in Canada. Currently, Dr. Todd Halowski, Associate Director, CCOA, serves as FCC President.
- Council on Chiropractic Education Canada (CCEC) – As part of its mandate, the FCC has the responsibility to accredit, recognize and certify chiropractic educational programs. The FCC works to encourage excellence within these programs and to inform the public, chiropractic professionals and the educational community about their quality and integrity. These goals are accomplished through the CCEC, an independent committee of the FCC.
- Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board (CCEB) – The CCEB develops and administers the written multiple choice and objective structured clinical examinations (OSCE) that are part of the qualifying licensing requirements for chiropractors in Canada.
- Canadian Network of Agencies of Regulation (CNAR) – CNAR connects members, experts and insights in support of regulatory excellence.
- Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation (CLEAR) – CLEAR brings together the professional regulatory community for the exchange of information, education and training, serving as a central information clearinghouse, and identifying and sharing best practices.
