Renewal FAQS

For information about CCOA fees, please see Fees.
Do I need to renew my membership with both the College and the Association?
To practice chiropractic in Alberta, chiropractors must renew yearly with the College of Chiropractors of Alberta (CCOA). CCOA has a legislated mandate to serve and protect the public through registration, renewal, competency, professional conduct and oversight of chiropractors to ensure safe, competent and ethical care is provided to Albertans.
Chiropractors do not need to belong to the Chiropractic Association of Alberta (CAA) to practice chiropractic in Alberta. However, there are many benefits of belonging to an association. Visit www.albertachiro.com for association-related information.
I have started completing my renewal but don’t have time to finish it now. Can I save my application?
Yes, you can log out and the information you have entered will be saved. When you log back in, continue your renewal. Please ensure to complete the renewal application in full (including payment) no later than June 17.
Where can I find a copy of my CCOA receipt and Practice Permit?
You can find a copy of your receipt and practice permit in your Portal. You can download them and save for your records.
How can I tell if I have successfully completed renewal?
Once your renewal has been completed, you will receive an email confirming the completion and instruction on how to obtain your practice permit.
