As employers

Regulated members who are employers are responsible to adopt OHS policy in support of their employees. Visit the OHS website to confirm your requirements.

The CCOA’s role is to inform regulated members who are employers that they have a duty, but not to inform regulated members on how to meet their responsibility.

Radiation health and safety

Alberta’s Radiation Protection program is legislated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Occupational Health and Safety Code. The CCOA is organized under the Health Professions Act to regulate the practice of chiropractic in Alberta and is designated as an Authorized Radiation Health Registration Agency (ARHRA). For information on how CCOA fulfills this role, please view the CCOA Radiation Registration Agency Manual. Regulated members of the CCOA who operate X-ray or Laser equipment in their offices are required to register their equipment with the CCOA.
